Maple Apple Crisp

5-6 cups sliced, peeled apples 1.25 – 1.5 L
1/2 tsp salt 2 mL
1/2 cup all purpose flour 125 mL
1/2 cup rolled oats 125 mL
1/2 cup brown sugar 125 mL
1/2 cup butter 125 mL
2/3 cup maple syrup 150 mL

Arrange apples in greased 8 x 8 inch (20 x 20 cm) baking dish. Pour syrup over apples. In small mixing bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, brown sugar and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs. Sprinkle topping over apples. Bake at 350°F (180°C) until apples are tender and topping is lightly browned, about 35 minutes: or microwave on high for 12 to 15 minutes.
